The TSXY Suspension Type Take-Up and Pay-Off Machine is designed for large-reel cable winding and pay-off operations, using a suspension-type mechanical configuration that supports the reel from above rather than from a floor-mounted cradle or shaft arrangement. This overhead suspension approach provides a series of practical handling and operational advantages for large, heavy cable reels that are difficult to manage efficiently with conventional floor-supported equipment.
The suspension design allows the reel to be loaded, changed, and removed by overhead crane or forklift without the physical constraints imposed by floor-level axle mounting systems. For cable reels in the large diameter and heavy weight category — typical of power cable, armored cable, and medium-voltage cable production — this significantly reduces the time, effort, and safety risk associated with reel change operations, which are among the most frequent maintenance interventions on high-production cable lines.
The machine maintains continuous, controlled tension on the cable during both take-up and pay-off operations, with the tension control system adapting automatically to the changing reel diameter as winding progresses. This diameter-compensated tension control ensures that the cable is wound with consistent pressure throughout the reel build, preventing the core crushing, layer slippage, and edge instability that can occur when tension is not compensated for increasing reel diameter.
The suspension frame and drive system are engineered for the dynamic loads generated by large rotating reels, with bearing systems and frame stiffness selected to maintain alignment and vibration levels within acceptable limits across the full reel weight range from empty to fully loaded.
